Take your ticket like a man and move on.
For all we know (at this point), the injury was sustained from a tackle to guy while he was running from police. Maybe it happened in the van, maybe it didn't. If it happened through a malicious act by an officer, they deserve prison time for sure, but I can't help but think how he'd still be alive today if he would have just taken his ticket like a man.

18 charges, with 2 in March of this year. This type of attitude and behavior clearly explains why he didn't just take his ticket and walk. It also explains the police's lack of compassion as he is a known criminal and repeat offender.
Should he have died for pissing in public? No. He probably should have been shot during one of the multiple other altercations in which he was involved. Did it give the police the right to fuck him up? No. Should they be held accountable? Absofuckinglutely.
Please understand that this in no way condones the actions of the police. But to say that his record is irrelevant seems a bit of a stretch. Malicious destruction of property, second degree assault, burglary, tons of possession charges. You cannot tell me that someone with those [recent] charges is going to cooperate, take a citation, and go on with life like you or I would. It speaks to his character. Plain and simple.
