  • Flight recorder of crashed Asian Airlines records pilot "Praise the Virgin MOther."

No really, it was "Allau Snackbar."

Nurcahyo Utomo, who is one of the experts examining the black box recordings uncovered from the wreckage, said it’s tough for him because he knew the pilot personally as he revealed those words, reported Yahoo News Singapore.

“We are listening to a recording that represents the last moments before the crash and it is disturbing,” he said. “There are times where the investigators would get unnerved listening to the recording.

“It is as if we can feel them — Allahuakhbar, Allahuakhbar were the last words said before they died,” Utomo said.

The words, which translated mean “God is great,” are often said by Muslims just before they die as they believe this grants them immediate entry into paradise.

However, the phrase is also often used as a cry from jihadists as they engage in a terrorist attack.

It has also been reported by christiantoday.com that 41 members of a Christian church congregation were among the 162 people killed in the crash.

There is no evidence thus far to suggest any connection to terrorism but more details are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks as the flight recorders undergo further examination.

Let's see what the black box says. Hopefully, there's a mechanical issue that occurred.

If not, we have a whole new problem to deal with.

If this was to turn out to be true, it will put a lot of focus on the Malaysia crash.

It doesn't always mean "Kill Whitey."

"This phrase is also used in times of distress.

Just before a Garuda Airbus A300B-4 crashed into the jungle near Medan, Indonesia, the pilot screamed "Aaaaaah! Allahu Akbar!" into his radio. According to a radio communication transcript, the pilot's conversation with the air controller had been in English, but his last words were this Arabic phrase as the plane crashed on September 26, 1997, killing all 235 people aboard in Indonesia's deadliest crash. It was suspected that the crash may have been due to either disorientation or engine failure caused by local dense smog resulting from forest fires.[5][6]

About four minutes before the crash, there was some confusion by Medan ATC because two planes had the same flight number. Merpati Flight 152, which had the same flight number as Garuda Flight 152, was also on approach at that time. A transcript of the radio communications between the aircraft and Medan ATC shows confusion by the air traffic controller at Medan over which 152 is being spoken to. Then, after Garuda 152 was in radar range, air traffic control pulled it off what Garuda Indonesia pilots say is the normal landing approach, and told it to turn left at 2,000 feet, about 14 miles away. The directions brought the plane to a mountainous area requiring an altitude of at least 7,500 feet, the pilots say. Normally, the plane would descend to 2,000 feet at 6.6 miles. According to the transcript, the pilot asked for confirmation of the instructions and was told to go on.[3]

            MNA 241 = Merpati Flight 241 (approaching)
            BOU 683 = Bouraq Flight 683 (departing)
            GIA 152 = Garuda Flight 152 (approaching)
            MEDAN = MEDAN ATC

MEDAN: Merpati 152, you turn left heading 240 vectoring for intercept ILS Runway 05 from right side. Traffic now rolling. (Note that the ATC confused the callsigns of MNA 241 and GIA 152, and spoke to a non-existent flight. This was meant for GIA 152)
MEDAN: GIA 152 do you read?
GIA 152: GIA 152, say again?
MEDAN: Turn left heading a ...... 240, 235. Now vectoring for intercept ILS Runway 05.
            GIA 152: Roger, heading 235. GIA 152.
GIA 152: GIA 152 heading 235. Confirm we cleared from a ..... mountainous area?
MEDAN: Affirm sir! Continue turn left on heading 215.
GIA 152: On heading 215, GIA.
BOU 683: Good afternoon, approach. BOU 683 departed left turn
MEDAN: BOU 683 continue turn left on heading 120 initial 2000ft.
            - One line missing in transcript -
MEDAN: GIA 152, turn right heading 046, report established on localizer.
GIA 152: Turn right heading 040, GIA 152, check established.
            MEDAN: Turning right sir.
            GIA 152: Roger, 152.
MEDAN: 152, confirm you're making turning left now?
GIA 152: We are turning right now.
MEDAN: 152 OK, you continue turning left now.
GIA 152: A ...... confirm turning left? We are starting turning right now.
            MEDAN: OK ...... OK.
MEDAN: GIA 152 continue turn right heading 015.
GIA 152: Aaaaaa. Allahu Akbar. (God is great!)
After a failed attempt to climb the world's second highest peak, K2, according to Greg Mortenson's book, he was greeted by his porter with the phrase, "Allah Akbar! Blessings to Allah you're alive!"[7]"

In times of joy and gratitude

When Reshma Begum was discovered alive 17 days after the 2013 Savar building collapse in Bangladesh which killed 1129 people, crowds jubilantly cried Allahu Akbar to express their joy and gratitude that she had survived.[8][9]

As a multi-purpose phrase, it is sometimes used by Arab football commentators as an expression of amazement.[10]

Fucking this. Yes, we hear terrorist shitbags saying it, but Muslims say it in everyday life as some Christians or Elvis would use "god bless", "praise him", "jesus" etc.
