I like the body cam idea. Buy stock in hard drive companies though. Video files are huge and law requires a certain retention period. That's gonna be some drive space.

While we're at it, let's include all public servants in this. Doctors and nurses, teachers and principals, judges and prosecutors, politicians and staff members. Give go pros to every meter maid and crossing guard! Let's record everything! That will end racism!

Doctors and nurses aren't public servants.

Have you been to a hospital lately? They're not private clubs, ya know. They take an oath and have peoples' lives in their hands. How can we possibly trust them? Bodycam them.

Let's body cam McDonald's employees then. All of the same applies to them.

Ok! No one can be trusted! End racial profiling!

Let's help overcrowding at prisons by sending offenders out in shifts, body cams attached, to walk routes and record everything. We don't want to miss anything.

Is someone taking an oath the deliniating factor for you? I don't think we can afford body cameras for all of those people....

Wouldn't trust them a bit. They kill WAY more than cops every year:

                      — between 210,000 and 440,000 patients each year who go to the hospital for care suffer some type of preventable harm that contributes to their death, the study says.

Some of that is just the state of medical science and technology. We've still got a long long way to go with automation before every single last preventable death is going to be really preventable.

Body cameras won't solve the problem of over militarized and under trained and unintelligent police officers.

The roots of the problem is education and the lack thereof in regards to the police and the populace. Until education is addressed, stupid shit will continue to happen and it will happen with more frequency.
