The "society" precedent was already set - people sue first and ask questions later.
Good thing is when they settle out of court there isn't a LEGAL precedent set.
And Presby gets to avoid a very public and potentially damaging media event/circus. They just want it to go away and fast.

more like "if the stupid nigger had TOLD them that he had been exposed to ebola, he might be alive today"

The race card is absolutely ridiculous. They shouldn't even print that stupid shit.
And ya, he fucked up by not telling them he was exposed to Ebola. But are we sure he knew? I've heard that he transported a sick pregnant lady to get medical care, but that he didn't know it was Ebola. There is surely more to that story, but I've just not seen it.
Regardless, the hospital fucked up. No one really doubts that, right?
I see info about malpractice lawsuits and settlements coming across my desk all the time, and it's crazy what some of the payouts are, even when the doctors didn't do anything wrong. It shouldn't be that way, but it is, and when some of these clowns are getting hundreds of thousands for bullshit cases, it sure makes it hard to expect this family not to get a big chunk for what they went through.
Again, it shouldn't be that way, and I'm sure it's much more about greed than anything else, but I do think the hospital needs to face consequences for handling this really poorly from start to finish.
I would hate to have been part of his immediate family that had to lose him, all their stuff, and then stay in quarantine. This guy wasn't some piece of shit. He didn't ask for Ebola. He caught it trying to help someone else. He was sick and scared and told them he came from West Africa. I don't think his skin color has a damn thing to do with it, but either they were too incompetent to realize what they were dealing with and/or maybe they really did just want to get him in and out because he didn't have insurance or money. That wouldn't surprise me.
I'm more or less playing devil's advocate, because I don't know all of the details. None of us really do.

To hold the hospital responsible for ANYTHING ebola related, when it is beyond the scope of normal business, is absolute garbage.
