Government needs to be reined in.

"Law Lets I.R.S. Seize Accounts on Suspicion, No Crime Required"

For almost 40 years, Carole Hinders has dished out Mexican specialties at her modest cash-only restaurant. For just as long, she deposited the earnings at a small bank branch a block away — until last year, when two tax agents knocked on her door and informed her that they had seized her checking account, almost $33,000.

The Internal Revenue Service agents did not accuse Ms. Hinders of money laundering or cheating on her taxes — in fact, she has not been charged with any crime.

Define irony: Seizure laws designed to combat organized crime are used to fleece ordinary citizens.

Wait until you see the unintended (or the real desired results) results of the laws that are going to be passed because a few old alleged Nazis are getting Social Security payments and the powers that be want to be able to cut them off even though they have never been charged with or convicted of a crime. We could call it the "No SS for you because you are not politically correct law".
Magnus, I am your father. You need to ask your mother about a man named Calvin Klein.

The IRS would never do anything morally reprehensible.

My love of Nazis? What are you talking about?

The issue that I raised really has nothing to do with someone being a Nazi or not. Claiming that the new law is about Nazis just gives the government an excuse to pass a law that allows them to take what they want from anyone that they want without the citizenry thinking that the law may one day be used against them.

Maybe I am misremembering some previous posts. Sorry. Post a link to the law in question, please.

There are a few other bills out there but this is the only one that I could find a text of.

I am sure that something like it will pass but the final draft of the bill will say nothing about Nazis and instead will give the government the power to strip away any and all government pensions & benefits for engaging in political activities that those in charge do not like. Some of those activities could include being an NRA member, donating to a Republican candidate, refusing mandatory donations to the NAACP, having a carry permit or owning a fire arm, voting if you are white, not driving a hybrid, refusing to join a union or to pay union dues to a union that you do not belong to, etc.....

This doesn't sound like a slippery slope argument or anything.

It has already happened with the property forfeiture laws. Did you expect the government to not seek out the power to do that to everyone with out even the flimsiest excuse for doing so? The left is doing everything they can to criminalize political opposition and will use the levers of government power to do so.
