That's not true. It's been eroded quite a bit, but it still exists.

Yeah, most media outlets are biased and they control and filter their content, but you still have the right to say, publish, podcast, blog, webcast, etc. whatever* you want.

The event in which the media is corrupted and owned by a political party. The press acts as a check and balance in our government system. I believe the press should not have direct intimate business relationships with political parties, ie they draft their hosts and reporters directly out of the administration, and vice versa. The press is intended to remain impartial as a whole. Of course there will be bias and leanings, but to intentionally mislead, withhold, and obfuscate the truth for the sole purpose of saving a party and by that their career is a huge problem. Administrations (Obama) that refuse to disclose or call on reporters of a particular network or bias, and close them out of all information. If reporters don't do as the administration asks, they black list them. This is not freedom of the press, it's tyranny.

Your right to become a part of the "media" and say, post... whatever* is still there, even if you choose not to exercise it.

To expand on what CJ is saying, there is still technically freedom of the press, but the major outlets are now in a de facto state of being state sponsored press. Let's see, who else has had the major media outlets in their country only singing the praises of the current government...

Obama personally hasn't been implicated in any of this. Some members of his cabinet were probably involved and there may be a tie between them and the president somewhere but as of yet we don't have any proof of a connection or a subsequent cover up.

                  Were probably involved? Somebody WAS:
...the former chief of staff to former IRS Commissioner Steven Miller, Nikole Flax, visited the White House 35 times after talking with former head of tax exempt groups Lois Lerner about working to criminally prosecute conservative tea party groups for "lying" about political activity. At the White House, Flax met with a top Obama aid during some of those visits.
