  • Trey Gowdy is a bulldog

I think that guy is great. I am happy to have him on my side.

If impeachment process is ever started, Gowdy having been a former prosecutor should run the show. No rock will be left unturned.

Wish we had more representatives like him and not a bunch of politicians.

I enjoyed watching him last night. The D's were actually getting emotional about the hard words thrown at the IRS and weeping over the disrespect shown to the commissioner.

Some people might not be aware, but some of the democrats in that room have been implicated with lois lerner's correspondence. That might explain why they are so "emotional." They are invested in this blowing over, if the IRS goes down, they will probably go down also.

That's a big if, and nothing will come of it. Nothing sticks to this administration and the scandals are plenty. This is all grandstanding and nothing will ever happen.

Of course I think heads should roll, but they never will.

You're essentially echoing what I said in the earlier thread. That's all pretty much true. The republicans are pussies and don't want to rock the boat because they figure they are going to take the senate.

It's irritating. People should be in jail, including house/senate members. It might actually send them a painful reminder that they work for us, not the other way around.

I like equating the IRs/Tea Party taxation scandal to Watergate: IMO Nixon was absolutely crucified for less.

Yes, that was beans compared to using government power and money to attack and target tax paying citizens directly. It is direct in your face tyranny.

Nixon personally recorded many of the conversations that were used against him. Then he tried to have the CIA interfere with the FBI's investigation, and lied about that. The crime itself wasn't a big deal for the president, the subsequent cover up attempt and trying to obstruct justice is what got him in impeached.

Obama personally hasn't been implicated in any of this. Some members of his cabinet were probably involved and there may be a tie between them and the president somewhere but as of yet we don't have any proof of a connection or a subsequent cover up.

What republicans are trying to do now is paint a picture of how the administration and several members of congress could possibly be connected to the scandal and hope that it raises enough suspicion to sway some senate seats their way in November.

Then the next GOP candidate for POTUS will be able to use IRS/tax reform as a talking point while congress, hopefully with a republican majority in both branches can start grilling Eric Holder and eventually get a special prosecutor hired.

Nixon wasn't impeached, he had enough self respect to resign before that happened. The only two presidents to be impeached were Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton - (both democrats ).

The reason he hasn't been implicated is because the media will not do their job here, they are owned by the democrats. If this was a republican, he would be implicated. There is a serious problem with freedom of the press and it allows democrats to get away with murder, and republicans get nailed every time. Eric Holder should be investigated and held to account for his abuse and dereliction of duty for the 2008 voter intimidation case, failure to enforce border laws, benghazi, and failure to assign a special prosecutor. Susan Rice knowingly lied to 8 news programs about benghazi and needs to be held accountable for actively taking part in a conspiracy. Hillary Clinton should be charged with obstruction of justice for actively and knowingly lying to the American people about Benghazi. Lois Lerner should be charged with obstruction and perjury at the very least. The current FBI director (along with the other 3 they've been swapping out trying to find the right lap dog) should be prosecuted for obstruction as well.

This administration has been hit with more scandals than any I can remember in history, and all of them are legitimate smoking gun examples. The media and administration actively work to cover them up, time and time again. I for one am completely sick and tired of this shit.
