Facebook friend posted a bill for his daughter to get a band aid, checkup and a steroid shot. His half was 450 with insurance paying 1800 ( supposedly based on bill). That's what the system has come to. Material cost - Maybe 3-5bux. Doctors cost+ his bills- Maybe 500-800 ( that's insane too) Who gets the other 1500+? Why is it even needed everyone still made a healthy profit all around.

my girlfriend got into a car wreck in Feb. She has no health insurance. It was $1k for the ambulance which is fair all things considered. Her actual hospital bill was almost $4000! She even declined the CT and X-ray because she knew she didn't have insurance! The only treatment she got was "mandatory" bloodwork, an IV, and they cleaned a wound on her head (which i still found glass in after we got home). She said after she declined the CT and X-ray their attitude changed and they treated her like shit. They didn't even give her any meds at the hospital, or even prescribe any medication for the pain. Its a fucking racket man.

more control for profit under the guise of safety.

i remember when i found out the new fords started putting those ecu's in that recorded data in the s197 mustangs that could detect if they have been tuned. i think it was like 2008 maybe? i might be wrong, but that is why i will probably always drive vehicles made before then.

I read an article similar to this one a few days ago about private prisons and their lobbying efforts to keep weed illegal.

The Unions that public prison guards belong to have more influence over laws that keep the prison population high then the private prisons do. Private prisons are a symptom, not a cause. I believe that private prisons should not exist and would not convict an inmate of one who killed a guard at one.
