They've been working on this deal since 2012. Obama needed a diversion for the VA scandal.
Where there should be a cacophony of outcry for his many presidential misdeeds and missteps, there are only a few squeaky wheels. Sure, we know a lot of people who are upset, but it's not a force to be reckoned with; easily dismissed by passage of time and new controversy. If the next LIC isn't as bad as BHO, it's only because he's (or God forbid it's billary) worse.
We need someone with starch in their back and a wife who respects the pedigree of the WH. I bet there's goddamn grape soda, crayon & bleach stains in the rugs by now.Ronald Reagan:"Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it."

I don't know if they usually paint the interior when they turn the WH, but this is definitely going to require interior paint, new carpets, new blinds and screens, a new vent hood, maybe a new stove.
Anyone who's ever done enough property management will understand completely.Ronald Reagan:"Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it."

Guys, I am REALLY getting sick of all this shit. We need term limits and we need to do some national referendum thing to get it on a national ballot, so we can all vote. Congress sure as hell isn't going to propose an amendment to limit their term limits. I think 3-4 terms max for a congressman (two years each) and 2 terms max for a senator (six years each). Also, NO FUCKING PENSION for Congress. It's called serving your country.
There is just too much back door bullshit that goes on and it's sickening. Obama is utterly awful, but Congress is complicit ultimately even if they squeak and whine, they ultimately don't do anything to stop him because The Dems and Pubs offset each other. If we had Congressional officials that weren't worried about being re-elected, they'd be a lot more aggressive on doing the right thing versus towing a party line.Ford

Originally posted by POTUS View PostFor the past several years, the Congress has enacted unwarranted and burdensome restrictions that have impeded my ability to transfer detainees from Guantanamo. Earlier this year I again called upon the Congress to lift these restrictions and, in this bill, the Congress has taken a positive step in that direction. Section 1035 of this Act gives the Administration additional flexibility to transfer detainees abroad by easing rigid restrictions that have hindered negotiations with foreign countries and interfered with executive branch determinations about how and where to transfer detainees. Section 1035 does not, however, eliminate all of the unwarranted limitations on foreign transfers and, in certain circumstances, would violate constitutional separation of powers principles. The executive branch must have the flexibility, among other things, to act swiftly in conducting negotiations with foreign countries regarding the circumstances of detainee transfers. Of course, even in the absence of any statutory restrictions, my Administration would transfer a detainee only if the threat the detainee may pose can be sufficiently mitigated and only when consistent with our humane treatment policy. Section 1035 nevertheless represents an improvement over current law and is a welcome step toward closing the facility.

So I was reading up on daddy Jihad today. He would have been a member of the 1980 US cycling team in the summer olympics. We boycotted these games over Russia's invasion of Afghanistan and he's been bitter ever since. He was good friends and would have competed with Greg Lemond. One of them brushed it off and continued on their path, the other moved to Idaho and gave up cycling.
