  • Edward Snowden...

Did anyone catch the Brian Williams interview earlier this week? I DVR'd it and just got around to watching it last night.... Very insightful.

What's your take? Traitor, guilty of espionage, or Patriot?

If you didn't see it, I highly recommend....

Williams: “Do you see yourself as a patriot?”

Snowden: “I do. You know, I — I think patriot is a word that’s — that’s thrown around so much that it can be devalued nowadays. But being a patriot doesn’t mean prioritizing service to government above all else. Being a patriot means knowing when to protect your country, knowing when to protect your Constitution, knowing when to protect your countrymen from the — the violations of an — and encroachments of adversaries. And those adversaries don’t have to be foreign countries. They can be bad policies. They can be officials who, you know, need a little bit more accountability. They can be mistakes of government and — and simple overreach and — and things that — that should never have been tried, or — or that went wrong.”

Patriot. I read an article before the interview where John Kerry was trying to sound like a hardass about Snowden and ended up coming off like a complete idiot. It was downright embarrassing reading it.

The guy is very intelligent, and the information he provided in the interview was provoking to say the least... Really makes you wonder what all your government knows about you - right or wrong... and especially how they "shoot first, ask later" regarding spying on US citizens....

Truly a patriot, without a doubt.

Another interesting fact - he has never met Putin and they have not accosted him in any manner for any information at all. The only reason he is in Moscow is that is where he was when his US Passport was revoked, thus leaving him there. His intention was Latin America.

I like what he is saying about how he DID try to go through the correct channels and nothing was done. I think he did a good thing and deserves an award for being a good citizen instead of a traitor.

deserves a slap on the hand, he did release some information that was better left in the shadows. But ultimately he was protecting the nation from domestic threats

I really wonder if the move to get lady bits is a shrewd play to avoid getting the bad end of general population in a men's prison.

Interesting thought. It is a way Obama is letting him out of military custody to put him in a federal prison as even soldiers in custody have nothing for traitors.

My thoughts too, most the info he stated was what I thought was kinda common knowledge. The interview just seemed like a psychopath was in control of it. All one sided and bragging on what he has done. Granted, he is correct... I just dislike a few things.

What a shameful person. I couldn't imagine being that kid's parents.
