  • Toyota's new US headquarters is Plano.

California’s inhospitable tax policies may have struck again, this time costing Los Angeles one of its largest employers. According to multiple sources close to the situation, Toyota will be relocating its US headquarters from the LA suburb of Torrance to Plano, Texas.

Exactly. Independence Day is just a metaphor for Californians.

            Looks like it's true:

Good deal for Plano. They have really packed in some great corporations no wonder they have such a low tax rate and lead all types of "livability" polls.

I've had personal experience with this, most of them won't bother changing their mailing address. Much less get a Texas drivers license or register to vote. The ones I've worked with keep CA plates on their cars even after living here for 4 years.

Because if you still have those things, you can tell everyone about how you're from the enlightened state of California.

I wish cops would start busting people's asses over this. I thought the rule was 30 days before you need to file a change of address? I see so damn many out of state plates and they are driving around on our highways for free basically.

They pay tolls, property and sales tax... so how do you figure? I'd think they were screwing themselves since the State of California still has it's hand in their pocket.

there is nothing more important to people from california than being able to tell people they are from california.

they are worse than lds missionaries for how much they go on and on about it.

Would an injection of 5,000 liberals turn Collin County blue?

Hopefully, they live in Dallas as it's blue already.

Failed logic. Californian does not automatically equate to liberal. Probably quite the contrary in terms of what level position most of these employees are. If you spend time in the state you learn real quick that the feeling is much closer to 50/50, but the voting population centers seem to be full of idiots.

Texas will win for a few decades, before it becomes a business/politically hostile environment as well.

SoCal is a lot more politically like north Texas than NorCal is. The people that will relocate to Texas won't be that much different than anyone else in Texas except they will marvel at the cheap real estate prices and bitch about not being able to find tritip.

Agree with you on that. We have gone from a country who elected by the populus as a whole to elections controlled by the vote in the large cities. I have family members and good friend out there that complain how elections are now being controlled and how the results are destroying what they have worked so hard to build.
