Anybody have an idea where the office will be?

Plano/Frisco schools are about to become overcrowded again

Oh and shame the design team isnt moving from Detroit. It would have been great to see some of those concepts out and about

"Brokers say the company has zeroed in on a location adjacent to J.C. Penney’s corporate headquarters near the southwest corner of the Dallas North Tollway and State Highway 121."

This move kinda explains why homes in the area were selling like crazy this past year.

Not really, no one knew about this until the weekend. Prices are however, about to go fucking apeshit.

I was implying insider trading. I think I heard the homes were getting purchased by an Asian company. Either way, property value went up along with traffic.

Gotcha. The good thing, is that the North Texas Freestyle Rap scene is about to become really awesome.

In California from what I understand the rule of thumb is 10+ miles inland = Republican, outer band coastal = Democrat.

Texas will win for a few decades, before it becomes a business/politically hostile environment as well.
Oh, I agree with you on your whole statement. I was just inferring "worst case" of all the employees moving. Would it really matter that much?

We bought in to a DR Horton development in phase 4, I recently found through the city of Mckinley's website they have had 18 phases planned between coit and independence north of eldorado. The entire development of coit north of main in frisco will be houses, from main to 380

                  Preparing my resume btw

I had lunch with a guy who runs a title shop here in town and he said that the outside consulting company that is helping with the move has already started to buy houses. They told him that Toyota has 150 executives in their shop that make over $400K a year.

Here's an interesting read from the LA Times talking about Toyota's move. Notice the very overt liberal denial spread all throughout the article. The comments section is more in-line with reality.

So let's see here....Toyota moves to Plano. Northrop Grumman moves to Virginia. Occidental Petroleum moves to Houston. I'm trying to put my finger on a trend here.....hmmm

Now if we can just get our local leaders to get their heads out of their asses and start focusing on expanding our water resources. I swear no one even seems to think about stuff like this until the panic starts with "oh noes! lake levels at 60%....pray for rain everyone"

Morons. In both states. Texas needs to get a handle on water pretty quick, or the cost is going to become hyper-inflated.

The Texoma > Wylie water line is about done for the NTMWD - however, Texoma is hurting for water now too. So much so that I'm pulling my boat from the slip since it's about to be sitting on mud. Maybe 1' under it right now.

Granted, still a lot of water in that lake. However, the local businesses (Marinas, guides, resorts...etc) are flipping out since the lake is so low.

However, if I read it right - I THINK the water in that pipeline will be water already released from the dam for power generation. I'd like confirmation of that though. However, it seems to be just shifting water supply problems around any way you cut it right now.

Lake Tawakoni is the same. You have barges and big boats sitting on the ground with no way to get to them

Yup and when I left my boat from heavy use last November there was still 15' foot under it. The water levels say 8' down - but the impact on the businesses is worst than that.
