On the one-year anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombing, city police have evacuated the area near the finish line on Boylston Street because of unattended backpacks:

Update IV: Per Boston.com: “It’s presumed the bags were detonated as a precautionary measure. So far, there is no evidence to indicate they contained explosives.”
