I can't stand Michael Savage

Tried to keep an open mind listening to this guy for the last couple months but I'm throwing in the towel. Each day I can't stand him more than the last. He's a self absorbed tactless jackass that feigns culture and refinement. Anyone else care to share some thoughts?

He beats the fake populism drum pretty hard. He could easily be another Sean Hannity, but he took things too far.

All he does is bag on other talk radio hosts like he's better than them, giving them petty names, etc. Not a mark of professionalism at all. He makes it known he's a "free thinker" about 10 times a show, and on that spends about half an hour explaining how he's different/better than them. Then he'll spend another half hour faking some culture and refinement, talking about classical music, wines, or some other meaningless shit. When he gets a caller that questions him, he will just mute them and talk trash to them and disconnect the call. That is not how Rush, Hannity, or Levin will deal with that kind of call. I get the feeling Savage is a whiny little bitch in real life. Hannity just pounds over and over and over on the same thing, extremely repetitive and tiring to listen to him.

I agree. He threw a tantrum a while back about his book being banned from England, or he was banned from entering, or something like that. He was ranting about freedom of speech and the first amendment, nevermind that he was talking about England who has a different government. He is an idiot. He also spends alot of time talking about how much he hates homosexuals; mind you he doesn't just think it is a sin, but he was spending so much for a while convincing people he hated them that I think he is hiding in the closet.

I've listened to his show for about 2 or 3 (or 4?) months now and I must have heard this guy read from/quote his own books at least 15 times. Not for a few minutes, I'm talking like half an hour or a full hour.

He spent an eternity the other day bitching and moaning about how unfair it is that the female school teacher didn't get the same sentence that a male teacher would have gotten for hooking up with her 17 year student. He refuses to see that there IS a difference between the sexes. I agree that there should be equality, but to deny that there is a difference is another matter.
He comes across as an arrogant, tactless, know it all that has a grudge against fox news. Probably for not hiring him.

I heard him bad mouth some guy a few weeks ago that called in to ask him about how he wants more gun control after sandy hook (which he did, and does) and he cut the guy off, insulted him, and then proceeded to use anecdotal evidence of him shooting a .22 rifle when he was a child as proof he is pro-gun. What a fucking joke.

Yep. That sounds like him. I've heard him cut off several people and call them names. He very disrespectful to hi audience. That really turns me off.

What do you guys think of Chris Krok? I see him as a bible thumping attention whore that spends every show judging local people's personal business. All the guy ever focuses on is social issues. One of the biggest qualms I have with conservatives. He embodies just about all of it.

Agreed. I can't stand to listen to him. It's been a year since I have, so unless he has changed, you hit the nail on the head.

I don't see how anyone listens to talk radio. It's just a bunch of jackasses that think they know what best for everyone else on the planet. It's even worse than this site. That diagnosis transcends party lines, as well.

It's quite entertaining, intellectual, and educational. The best hosts interject their opinions occasionally but mostly are covering the facts. You get smarter and more informed, instead of just listening to music and not getting any real benefit. But honestly, that is exactly what I thought you were going to post in regards to talk radio.

I listen to NPR regularly for information, but most of the time when they offer up solutions I find myself thinking "What? That'll NEVER work in real life."
