We are shifting towards blue because of the same reason most people you meet seem to feel the same way because the Democrats realised they no longer have to appeal to the people you typically are around in order to win.

Unless the people you meet are any of the following ( or combination of ):

    1. A minority
    2. Unmarried single white female
    3. Under the age of 35 college educated/in college
    4. Immigrant/first time voter

Then they are most likely to vote Republican, and be in a shrinking demographic.

You should go read your posts. You might see why people don't like liberals.

Nope, I don't tow the party line and I'm a strict constitutionalist. You on the other hand, were a RINO at best, looking for a reason to suck the socialist D

If the Republicans had not run off the those voters ( and voters like me ), then there never would have been a President Obama in the first place.

Just something to think about the next time you go into a voting booth and vote for that lower taxes, small limited government, 2nd amendment defender, God fearing, Aborting hating, "marriage protector" you vote for and cant understand why that ideology has so much resistance against it.

So by your logic, I can either waste a vote entirely with a write in candidate, or vote entirely the other way? There are things in my life that I hold more valuable than others. For example, I want the government to have far less power. I am 100% for guns, for anyone who is not a felon. If less money was spent on welfare, social programs, etc. we wouldn't need higher taxes. There's so much waste associated with democrat agendas. While I am for LGBT marriage, it would be irresponsible of me to vote for all the things I'm against in order to get that one thing.

I don't know why I bother as I write this. You've got your mind made up and I've made my choices. The difference is that the choices you make are greatly affecting all Americans negatively. The choices I make while not perfect and can't make everyone happy, at least don't support wealth redistribution, criminalizing legal responsible gun owners, etc.
