I think what he's saying is that as the players have played the game over the last couple of centuries, the original intent has been manipulated by certain parties over the years. So the current popular, yet likely manipulated, "interpretations" differ from the initial intent of the founding fathers.

Oh, and as far as the gay marriage thing, I absolutely believe that they should be able to do so. What they do or feel in that regard is of no worry to me. And my opinion of the blind eye of the law is that legally, there should be no reason to believe that a "marriage" should be conditioned other than it be humans, and consenting adults. In the laws' view, it should be nothing more than entities with constitutional rights entering into a contract / legal status.

In order to have a meaningful discussion on manipulated interpretations we need to be more specific about which decisions we're talking about. I think that gay marriage falls under the equal protection clause of the 14th amendment. Seeing as the founding fathers were long dead at the time of its adoption, are they the go-to source for interpretation of it?

I disagree with you Eric. I think that most conservatives are big-government statists. Republicans and democrats are exactly the same except for social issues. An overwhelming majority want bigger government, more spending, more control. Those that don't have to run under one of those two flags because they can't get elected under another party because of the way the system works.

          More via George Takei:

BREAKING: AZ Gov. Jan Brewer has VETOED S.B. 1062, the "Turn Away the Gays" law. So very glad to hear she has listened to the thousands of citizens, businesses and civic leaders who urged sanity and a quick end to the new segregation.

If marriage is going to be licensed, I see it falling under the 10th amendment. If the 14th applies, then Arizona constitutional open carry applies to all states equally.

I have never understood the big issue with this. There are 3 main drives that my observations point to one main issue. That issues core fact on is humans fear things different and will spin the blame off on A. (most popular) Religion, and I won't even mess with how flawed that is. B.... It is not the norm, so it must be wrong! C. People have nothing better to do but throw rocks while living in a glass house. (while doing way more fucked up shit) Homosexuality has been around since the beginning of man, Just like social classes, illegal substances good people and horrible people. Choose to except it or stick your head in the sand, none of this will ever go away.

For the record I am Hetero lol. Hate shit that will not go away if you want to, not my problem. I will live my live and place my worries on other things while trying to keep my rocks to myself.

They should concentrate on more serious issues like why can't I buy beer before noon on Sunday?

The title is based off an old Crystal Gayle song titled "Don't it make my brown eyes blue".

I could give a rats' ass about gay marriage. I just don't fucking care. That wasn't the point I was trying to make. The point I was trying to make was that a Democrat-appointed Democratic Federal Judge overruled a Republican state's ban, and how the removal of the ban could potentially increase the number of Democratic votes within the state, therefore turning a red state blue.

I was just trying to ruffle the feathers of the hardcore 'publicans on here. Apparently you people are either too thick headed to get it, or just don't fucking give a shit. It's what I get for trying to stir the pot I suppose.

In Decatur, TN they collect the draft beer off the table at 6:00pm on Sundays. Not only that, but bars are closed on Sundays.
