Love they are wasting a lot of money sending ships over here. I hope they provoke some of our ships and we sink them.

I went ahead and highlighted the magic words.
Why do people think oil is some secret motivator for everything? How could it be any less secret? Yes, oil runs our economy, without it there would be complete anarchy and economic collapse. It drives everything, it shouldn't be surprising.

I'm going on a cruise out of Galveston this weekend, I'll make sure and keep a couple of beer bottles handy in case we run into them.

It would be pretty cool to see what kind of jets we'd have buzzing their decks all day and night if they entered the gulf. Sonic booms are pretty loud when they are a couple of hundred feet away.

If they could, they would. Honestly I think they are worried about breaking something and being stranded half a world a way with no support. I don't forsee them getting near here.

I`m sure they would greatly appriciate the American Brewskies, and you would probably get some pretty good Iranian drinks/smokes in return. I seriously doubt though you would get close to it as their own security would escort/advise your boat to maintain its distance -- Or they would notify the US Coast Guard to come and remove you/greet you upon your return to port.

Doing the later while the ship is in International Waters goes against established naval traditions, is considered a serious provocative act, and would lead to our ships being denied port entries and reduced use of other nations waters/facilities in responce to not following international protocols. Thus, dont look for that to happen either since we arent the Russians who never stop trying to buzz American Carrier task forces with TU-95`s

It`s not like they cant-- nor is there any law that says they cannot sail right up to the 12 mile limit ( or whatever the demarcation is for where they claim to be going ). If they broke down then by international law/Naval Customs we would be required to provide them assistance if they requested it.
