That's a softball of a joke, but it's the best post in this thread.

More money more problems. I'm happy with my income if I made less my house would just be older and smaller. My cars would be a few years older. Who gives a fuck about material things? I really don't... My aunt and uncle have millions of dollars. Sure they have a huge house and the range rovers (3) of them. Maybe I'm just a simple person and care more about family than money...

I should add. I could care less (anymore) about the CEOs income. I used to care when I worked at AA and we were taking cuts while the CEO was getting huge bonuses for saving the company money. I left that shit hole of a company and am now in a much better place.

100% accurate. Learn a trade, or go to school. If you're a tradesman and have any sense about you, you'll put in your time, split off and start your own business.

Yes. Nobody wants to work for anything anymore, they want it handed to them.

You can always leave. Or work harder to ensure a bonus. The onus is on you.

Because everyone wants the money, but nobody wants to do what it takes to get it.

Do as they please? Care to elaborate? You say they don't know how to do your job, but you don't know how to do theirs either. Nobody just walks in to a CEO position. They all start somewhere. I encourage you to do some research on the subject so you can be at least a little educated on the subject.

There is no way you pay 27%. If you do, you're an idiot, or you need a new accountant. It's called an effective tax rate. Look it up.

And, there's the jealousy. It's not Romney's fault you have no motivation to get out and make it big. That is nobody's fault but your own. Again, I find it really hard to believe you pay 27%. And even if you did, your 27% doesn't amount to shit in comparison to his 27%. He also provides jobs to people, and you do nothing.

I am not jealous, it doesn't bother me a bit. If I was bitter and jealous I would be screaming that he needed to pay a higher tax rate then me. I don't give a damn who he employees, everyone should pay the same tax rate. How is that jealousy?

Clearly, you are jealous, or you wouldn't be on here whining about it.

Special consideration should always be given to those that pay more, and those that provide jobs. They are the ones that have a bigger impact on the economy than you do.

In reality, your effective tax rate is probably around 15%. A whopping 4 points higher than his. IIRC in 2012 mine was 13.8% If your effective tax rate is higher than that, you really need to manage your spending better, and take advantage of the deductions available to you. People throw out this "I pay 27% in income tax!", and it's horseshit in most cases. Now, if you live in an apartment, and have no other tax deductible expenses, then that's your fault.

Uh, no. First, you have to have a quality mower in order to compete with the larger operations. No one is going to pay $50 an hour for a lopsided lawn. Then you have to have a vehicle to haul that mower around. Money for gas and upkeep on the vehicle and the mower. Money for advertising your services. Money for insurance because people are more than happy to sue you for anything. Oh and then you need a DBA or a .llc in order to work. Then you need a large enough customer base to fill your week.

At the end of the week, you pocket Maybe $20 an hour and don't have enough business for a 40 hour week.

Most people don't have a clue how the tax system works. My rate is about 18% of gross with one child being claimed. The 15% rate or whatever it was that Romney was paying was because all of his income came from stock dividends. You or I pay the same rate he did on stock dividends from shares held over a year. Of course, Obama got his way and bumped that rate up now for people who make over some income hurdle, I think it is $350K or so. And at that point the rate goes up.

What bothers me is that instead of the sheep crying about what Romney pays, they should be crying about what THEY pay. There is no reason why anyone should be paying more than 10% of their income in taxes, rich or poor. If you think otherwise then you are probably a moocher waiting on a check to come in the mail.

Yep. Along the same lines, you can tell all you need to know about the whiners complaining about income inequality by looking at their pay stubs.

This is a fact. I thought about this while I was out dicking around today.

A couple of years ago, no kids, very small house payment, paid off cars, excellent salary, and not enough deductions was a beating. My tax rate was on up there. I am actually very conservative. I have a good tax lady but just no way to reach the standard deduction being married and all.
