  • Thoughts about wage disparity

What is everyones opinion on limiting corporate wage to (insert random number here) times the lowest paid employee? Assuming you can eliminate loop holes of course.

Dont get me wrong, I like the free market but examples like Wal-Mart just seem disgusting at times.

What does everyone think? Problem that doesn't need solving? Other solution? Torinos are stupid?

If someone wants to earn more, work their way up the ladder. There comes a paycheck when you take responsibility for the life of a company

Problem that doesn't need solving. If someone doesn't think that their employer is paying them enough they can ask for more or leave. There is always someone who will take your place.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

If you're contemplating this question, you lack the mental resources to argue for the right answer.

Unskilled labor will only command so much money. If you want more - learn a skill or two.

So your ok with what soldiers make vs the guy that our government bailed out his bank and now he got a 100 million dollar bonus for not losing as much money as he did last year? I mean just because he grew up with a silver spoon in his mouth means nothing right? Soldier had all the same advantages growing up right? Just playing devils advocate.

We have a volunteer military. If someone is willing to get shot at for a living for what they're paying, who cares?

It's hard to say. But when it comes down to it, somebody started something, and 999 out of 1000 times shit doesn't work out. The one time that it does, somebody gets rich. That person did something. While everybody says "Fuck Wal-Mart"...how many employees do they have? How many companies turned this person down, only to be hired by Wal-Mart? All I know is that if I was someone who came up with a great idea, it would be nice to know that I could capitalize off of it.

I don't think anything should be mandated by the government, it's not their place to get involved in that (not that it has stopped them before).
I would like to perhaps see companies that engage in profit sharing get some sort of breaks, perhaps on their taxes.

Folks need to stop thinking they can live the middle class "dream" while working at McDonalds. No shit it's not a living wage bagging fries, it's not supposed to be. If you're not happy with where you are in the pay scale get some marketable skills and move.

But that would require work and initiative! Don't want to stress out the Obama supporters and actually make them get off the couch and do something on their own versus collecting handouts.

It's not my business what XYZ Inc's ceo makes. This whole wage disparity argument is predicated on envy and jealousy. The sad part is, our potus and his ilk are pushing it harder than $2 hooker on nickle night. It's sickening...
