I still don't see how arresting someone for failing to meet code is a good thing. Do they have so much space in the jail, so much money, that they have nothing better to do than arrest someone who evidently can't afford to repair his building?

I agree. I also don't believe him when he said no contractor was interested in making the repairs. Now the story is getting national attention people are offering to do it for no or low cost but he couldn't find a contractor to do it for full price? BS.

They may very well have not been interested in doing the work, at the price he was willing to pay.
