so is your state and society really better off? All because you forced obama to show you his birth certificate, and now you can sleep better at night knowing he was born in the USA.
Principle exceeds costs. Our prisoners are far too comfortable anyway. Go chain gang style and the numbers as well as the cost would plummet.

And I firmly believe we have way too many officers.

You're trying, badly, to fit two arguments into one.

YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES.

Do you get it? I mean yes.

It is OUR job to make sure the rule makers are following the rules. Might want to read up on that Constitution. I know it's inconvenient and has lots of old words but it's a pretty important document.

You have completely, unbelievably, missed the point. You do that a lot.

so you guys would rather run up the states debt, lay off police officers, and release criminals, just to see his birth certificate?

for you constitutionalists out there here is article II section 1: No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty-five years, and been fourteen years a resident within the United States.

the constitution does not give us any sort of procedure on how to determine if some one was born in the US, a lot of people back then did not have birth certificates, the federal government did not certify births, they loosely left that up to the states. take that for what it is.

there is another part of the constitution that people in this argument should be made aware of, the full faith and credit clause, this clause says that states within the United States have to respect the "public acts, records, and judicial proceedings" of other states. If Hawaii says he was born in this country, then every state in the union must accept that.

                    You completely missed the point.

Ok, I'm going to try this again.

It shouldn't be taken for granted that someone is a natural born citizen of the United States. Generally, on matters of even minuscule importance to the security and integrity of government matters, people's legal status within the country are verified. At the scale of, say, a Presidential election, where the Constitution mandates certain criteria for eligibility, and since we have the ability to verify said eligibility with birth records, it should be no stretch to see that the documentation should be provided and validated prior to election.

But it wasn't. Do you understand that no one can definitively say whether or not O-brother is really a U.S. Citizen? It's not whether you believe he is or not, it's simply a matter of there is nothing concrete to validate it. The Hawaiian Governor, a Democrat, who said it existed can't even turn the thing up.

So how do we know? It's not a matter of sleeping well. It's a matter of principal.

But if you want to talk about money, as far as the Arizona state budget, their corrections budget has grown from 571 million to 946 million in ten years. Their state Medicaid agency costs have gone from 506 million to 1.3 billion in ten years and their health services have gone from 246 to 438 million. That's an increase of more than 1.4 billion dollars annually. How much of that do you suppose is coming from people in the country illegally? We shouldn't verify their eligibility to receive entitlements that our tax dollars pay for either, right? Just take their word for it?
Men have become the tools of their tools.

but you do understand that article II section 1, states that a person must be born in the US in order to become president, but does not say what types of documentation is required, and who makes the determination.

so under the constitution what proof do you want? it does not state that you must present your birth certificate or any specific documentation.

personal identification is left up to the states, the state of hawaii has him listed as a natural born citizen. and under the full faith and credit clause of the constitution every state must accept what hawaii has certified on their own, even if different states require different standards.

                        WRONG.

Do you realize at the time OBAMMY was SUPPOSEDLY born, Hawaii would issue a CERTIFICATE OF LIVE BIRTH to someone not born on any of the islands.

And where does it say he is a "natural born citizen"?

It (apparently) takes less documentation and identity verification to become President than it does to buy a gun.
Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Yes. You know nothing of the spirit of the united states do you? Do you know anything at all? Did you even go to school, ever?? You don't think its our responsibility to keep our leaders on a very tight leash? You don't think they'll wipe their feet on your face if we don't? Besides that huge, towering point I have there, if he has nothing to hide, then he'll win the case now won't he? What is he so afraid of that he keeps dodging it? Ask yourself that, commie man.
