They're the only ones that would use it, aside from the NG. The Navy and Marines have the CH-46.

Eurocopter has the super puma and the nh-90. Both would fit the role. Also they have put in a bid for the armed ariel scout and it is based directly off of the Lakota. It is just upgraded with some fire power and some avionics package I am sure. Right now eurocopter is in a world of shit with their ec--225 which is their 12+ passenger helo ( which is also the civilian version of the super puma) that is huge in the offshore oil and gas industry. I can't go into details but if you Google ec 225 ditching in the north sea you will find the info and that is where all the trouble started.

Also they have the tiger which is a pretty sophisticated little attack helo.

Side note, ZFL in Germany does some overhauls on the 53 heads and gear boxes and those things are mind boggling huge. The gear boxes have work stands to climb on so you can work on it easier.

Loach is fucking cool. Theres one that comes out for machine gun shoots and its fun to watch.

I rode in one with the Army Aviation Heritage Foundation with a pilot who flew them in Nam. It's been the best aerial ride Ive ever had.
