Grant and Cleveland "ran" for three also.

Well, heck. Had to go look it up.

Grant went into the primaries for a third, but lost the parties nomination to Garfield. So, technically, didn't make it to the actual run as a third term.

Now, Theodore Roosevelt ran for a "third" term, as a third party candidate. He lost the Republican nomination and opened his own party. He wasn't elected for his first term, ascending to President after McKinley was assassinated.

Cleveland served two non-consecutive terms (22nd and 24th President), losing the 1888 campaign (Benjamin Harrison as the 23rd President).
