    They closed the plant here several years ago. With Bell and LM being union shops, it takes the appeal out of trying to start one here.

      I do work for Boeing, and I am not in any union. The company has whole divisions that are not unionized. Boeing is sending more & more business to it's non-unionized divisions. Oh, and I make pretty good money.

              With this current economic/political climate, why in the world would any large company consider California? They are in such a financial hole right now, businesses will have to dig them out of it through increased taxes. A business is just looking for trouble by moving there.

                There's a lot of skilled machinist & aerospace labor in California, and likely a bunch of subcontractors there that Boeing already uses.
