Wally world has its pros and cons for sure. But as it is stated here many times.... nobody is forced to work or shop there. Nobody is forced to sell their product there either. If you want in you play by the their rules. Sure they may be ruthless I am not arguing against that. Like I said it's all about choices. I choose to save money where I can so if the shits cheaper at wall mart guess where I am going?

They pay more than enough to run a household, make a car payment, insurance and buy food.

If they could get rid of employees while still bringing in the cash, hell yes they'd do it and they'd be smart to do it.
Doesn't the average Wal-mart store manager start out at like $70k + bonus? Something to strive for if you work hard enough.

Of course you weren't on "welfare", you were getting money from the government in other ways.

I don't give two shits what WalMart does or pays its employees. I don't shop their very often because their prices have gone way up over the last few years. Its a perception they have the lowest prices much like everyone thinks Southwest has the lowest fares. Its not always what it seems to be...

Originally posted by bird_dog0347 View PostWhile that may be true... don't work there, find another job. And don't tell me that there aren't other places to work (at least in a larger city) cause it's not like that's a special skill and you can't work at Target or Home Depot, or anywhere else.
While I don't necessarily think it's a good thing for them to handle internal business the way they do, it doesn't really bother me. As stated, they are for profit. They have some of the goods I need at substantially lower prices and when I need those goods I've got no problem buying them there.
