Why not cut it off completely? Before liberals there were charities and churches that fed the hungry. People were ashamed to take charity. Now since the handouts come from the government though they are benefits to not trying to succeed in life.

The real reason is that there would be tens of millions of natives rioting and looting within days of the announcement.

I have a cousin who "helps" her mother in her home run daycare who gets this junk. It is pathetic. She is perfectly able to get a real job and probably doesn't make bad money from her mom, yet I am sure it is all under the table. She drives a brand new Tahoe and baby daddy is in a Hummer.... Why is the media characterizing this as a reduction in benefits? It's an expiration of a supplement to the benefits.

It was the same when the temporary reduction in Social Security witholding expired. Suddenly there was going to be a 2% tax "increase" according to the media, when in reality witholding was simply reverting to its former percentage.

Same here until I spent time in Korea and a very little bit in Iraq.

I'm all for it. this should have been cut long before my GI Bill was decreased in about 2011.
