    A default would be bad

    But if we continue to borrow I feel we might all be speaking Chinese!

            You know they haven't been our largest sovereign debt holder for a long time, right? Also, their monetary policy technically strengthens the dollar*.

            *Specifically against the Yuan, but also in general, because they have to soak up extra dollars to keep their currency pegged.

                          Basic premise is that sometime in the far future, there is a global war on earth and the Chinese win. World language at that point is a mixture of Chinese and English. Then we spread out off of earth and on to other galaxies and people learn to stay away from the Federation and make a life of their own where ever they can.

                            Too expensive? Best I recall it was because viewership was low, and now that it's been out for a while it's gained a cult following, which is why the studios greenlit Serenity. I want more of that story, one season and a movie wasn't enough for me. IMO.
