    That's fair. I'm glad he didn't.

    Britain backed away. UN says wait and follow process. Russia says, no, while maintaining a significant military presents next to their ally.

    Plus the part I like best, he's a lawyer/congressman who openly complained the President doesn't have the constitutional backing to commit acts of war on foreign nations without seeking permission from Congress. Aside from the obvious fact that Presidents have declare that restriction unconstitutional and done it anyway.

      @jones..

      I get what you're trying to say man, but this is a NO WIN for us. Bombing will not stop the use of chemical weapons. You can't bomb those weapons because it will release them into the area and kill many more. You can't really bomb the weapon deployment system either. Those may have chem weapons already loaded. The President has already said he won't go after the Syrian military to give the rebels an advantage. The so called limited strike is just a dumb idea. You are either all in or you are wasting ammo..

      But there are several things that bother me here. For one, why is he bothered that children are being killed now? What is the difference between killing them with chems or bullets? Kids and civilians in general have been killed from day one of this civil war. The only difference is the weapon of choice. Dead is dead.

      The other thing that bothers me is that no matter how little we bomb, we are helping the Rebels. There is no way to avoid helping them. Sure there are moderate elements within those forces but we've all seen the films. They are no better than Assad. The Presidents inaction at the beginning of the war is what allowed Al-qaeda and other radicals to gain power within the rebellion. I understand that it was a tough decision back then but it has led to the issue we have now. IMO it is the Presidents lack of leadership that is the crux of this problem. The Russians simply stepped in and taken advantage.

      Finally, we were fools to buy into all the reasons we went into Iraq. We should not be fools to believe our government ever again.

          No doubt about his intentions. Got both liberals and conservatives chasing after this carrot.

                  I hear ya. I agree with most of it.

                  Except for,
                  "You are either all in or you are wasting ammo.."
                  Assad is using chemical weapons to accomplish his goals. He's got to have some kind of cost / benefit analyses their usage. Why does he not use them more often and in greater quantity? It's not like they are ineffective as weapons. Terrorizing his opposition into submission seems high on his list. As such, I don't see why we can't make the cost of using them higher in his analysis by destroying some prized assets. Loss of a few airfields, communication systems, and air defenses has got to mean something to him.

                  “They are no better than Assad.”
                  Obama’s hesitation clearly shows he don’t trust the rebel’s as a whole. McCain’s been saying there’s a large enough group that we can work with and that the “al Qaeda” concern is overblown. The rebels seem to be directly connected with Saudi Arabia and a few other arab leaders. That’s got to give us something to work on. Haven’t we been involved in training a bunch of them in Jordan since this thing started? I’m not convinced the rebels that may end up taking over won’t be better for our interest than Assad. So long as they are opposed to Iran, Hezbollah and Russia we ought to be able to work it in our interest.

                          I could go on if you like, we're still waiting for you to tell us what he hasn't lied about.

                            I'd also like to hear ONE thing, that he has ever taken responsibility for. It's been how many years, and he is still blaming Bush?

                            Libya, Benghazi, Egypt, blah blah blah. Tell us one thing he has publicly accepted the blame for since he entered office?

                              Yeah it'll be really hard to sell his air defense systems after we blow all the Syrian ones into bits. Not to mention how many countries will cancel their Mig orders after out F-16s blow a few of them out of the sky. Remember that Sadam Hussein had the most advanced technology the Russians could produce, and they managed to last a couple of days.

                                None of that will happen for another 3+ years. As long as the Cowardly Lion is in office, everyone (except us) is pretty safe.
