Whether he repeated his speech or made it up himself it still was a positive message which is more than I can say for 95% of these actors. If it affected 1 kid in that crowd then that's good to me.

I read someone say the same thing here on the boards before. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

But I do agree with you that laziness and apathy are destroying this country.

Unless it is the dream where you are standing on a mountain top and hot naked girls are bowing down and throwing pickles at you... The board is not interested.

So it seems he really does believe what he said in the video and wasn't just being a goon and trying to look like a mentor in the moment. He has a twin brother who has cerebal palsy...

OTTUMWA, Iowa – The motivational speaker had a lot of wisdom to share: How he overcame challenges, found out who he was and learned to accept himself with his good points and bad. And the stu…

                Quote from his brother:

When he and his brother were still in elementary school, they were shooting basketball, following each other's shots. Ashton made a called shot, "Right hand."

                Mike walked away.

"Where are you going?" asked Ashton.

"I said, 'You know I can't make that shot. It's not fair.' And Chris (Ashton) even at that age said, 'You can do anything you want. I can't make that shot for you. Mom's not here; she can't do it for you. It's your challenge. Stop using your disability as a crutch. This is your obstacle.'"

They just played his speach on AFN on a rerun. I like it. Too bad it was lost on the teens in the crowd.

Hopefully it'll be on a regular replay schedule. As Dennis Prager says, "Repetition is the mother of pedagogy."
