Screw the 20 weeks, what matters now is the crazy requirements for clinics to operate under in order for a patient to take a plan B pill or another abortion pill.
For those pills to work you typically have to consume them quite a bit sooner than that 20 week period, yet now you have to spend money on hospital visits with practicing physicians so that they can watch you swallow a pill? Most people in these situation do not have insurance, and even if they did, it would not be covered, so increasing the cost will reduce the possibility.
Seems like a way to prevent people from getting the abortion all together.

People cannot legislate morality. Look at all forms of prohibition, that shit plain doesn't work.
SS junk, this bill isn't only about the 20 week deadline, it's also about the closure of all but 5-6 locations in the state that meet the new regulations, effectively banning abortions to all but a select portion of the population. You also need to prove that life begins at conception.
If pro choice people don't want to have an abortion, fine, don't have one, but don't you dare tell anyone else they can't have one prior to the point of viability. It's not your choice to make.
I liken this to the gay rights movement, in that people who don't like something are trying to dictate their likes or dislikes on others who do not share their opinion on the matter.

Besides, isn't this a compromise? I don't like abortions. You do. You have 1/2 the time to decide to get an abortion. Pro-life gets the other half.

It's not your place to determine what someone does with their own body until the point of viability. They can wait until the day before and you should have no say in it. The 20 week timeline is bullshit pseudoscience. The facts are that no fetus has ever survived prior to 21 weeks 5 days, and even at that date it has only happened twice in recorded history.

In other news.... The same conservative supporters met today on their local court house lawns to protest that the government should stop with its overbearing intrustion, get off their backs, out and of peoples "private" lives.
