  • NBC compares Obama to Nixon

Earlier today Carney warned the media not to make comparisons to Nixon, apparently it didn’t work.

BRIAN WILLIAMS: Good evening. As a lot of American adults not so fondly remember, the last time the government was found looking into the phone calls of reporters and using the IRS for political purposes, it was the Nixon era, and while times have changed and circumstances are different, that subject came up at the Obama White House today as the administration now scrambles on several fronts. We begin with the potentially illegal use of the IRS to scrutinize some American groups and citizens because of their politics, and in this case because of conservative politics. Again, this is just one front we’re covering tonight.

The White House wants the public to know that Barack H. Obama is no Richard M. Nixon.

In the midst of revelations that the IRS targeted some of President Obama’s conservative opponents inappropriately, a reporter asked White House press secretary Jay Carney about comparisons to President Nixon, whose administration compiled an “enemies’ list.”

“People who make those kind of comparisons need to check their history,” Mr. Carney replied. “It is a reflection of the sort of rapid politicization of everything that you have that kind of commentary.”

Mr. Carney said categorically that nobody at the White House knew about the IRS controversy until a few weeks ago, and said top White House officials then received information only “very broadly” about it.

Of course he's no Richard Nixon. I'd trust Nixon way more than Obama.
How do we forget ourselves? How do we forget our minds?

Nixon wasn't a Left Wing Radical hell bent on running the country into the ground. Everything Dinesh DSouza said in his movie is becoming reality.

I am hoping this costs Obama and he is impeached, Biden is sworn in and Reid loses his place as Majority leader

Some of you guys need to do a little more reading on Nixon apparently. They are both shitheads, just at opposite ends of the fucking asshole spectrum.

Tricky Dick actually ENDED a war (Viet Nam) and got us on good terms with China for the first time in a long time. No one lost there life during the Watergate break-in. Other than that, he was pretty much a shit-heel, too.

Aint gonna happen. Obama's nut-huggers will never vote impeach him - he's not great but he's the only democrat president they've got. They'll criticize in some meaningless way, then jump right back on the bandwagon. All that notwithstanding, Obama is too arrogant to admit he did wrong or resign from office.

Obama has too many buffers to prevent anything being pinned on him. Unless you can be impeached for being a terrible executive. lol
