The issue with Obama's birth certificate has nothing to do with his mother being American.

"Natural born" citizen

Cruz was born to American parents outside the country and has never been a citizen of any country but the USA. Obama was born to one American parent outside (?) the country and had dual citizenship until he was 23 years old.

I'm not going to regurgitate all the "birther" claims, but IMO there are very serious holes in Obama's claim to have been born in Hawaii.

There is no issue with Obama's mother being of American descent. If it is determined that all it takes to be POTUS is having one American parent, then that opens up a LOT of doors.
