If anything, you can make the argument that he hasn't done much and THAT in and of itself is a good thing. The only other thing I wish he would do is increase regulation enforcement, especially for insurance agencies. But I will give him his due, this year he has actually acted as our Governor and I'm happy to have him that way.

He can't do any of that. The governor in Texas has very few official powers.
ZOMBIE REAGAN FOR PRESIDENT 2016!!! heh

Very true. The Lt. Governor really carries the stroke. Our governor is more of a spokesman/PR guy.

I do like that he's willing to call a special session for all this, though. Especially with gun manufacturers looking for an excuse to relocate. Why not lower business taxes and let them come here?

He definitely has the ear and influence of the Lt Gov. and I've always liked his aggressive stance on getting businesses here. Whether he actually does anything or not, he still gets credited for the financial state of Texas, good or bad.

I honestly kind of wish he would've taken a crack at Senator. I think him and Ted Cruz are in each others jobs.

No governor is EVER going to be perfect. It has something to do with all the people that surround said governor. He has to bend here and there on certain issues to get what he wants elsewhere. We the people will never know if it is him or the people that surrounds him that are the problem but one thing that is for sure is that he takes all the blame or praise for it either way.

I think it called politics and it sucks a big one.
