Imams can make additions to the Koran at will and it becomes more of a law than the original text.

III Interpreting the revelation. In the reception and communication, the Prophet should be infallible and free of mistake. The language of revelation is sometimes of certain complexity, however; thus it should be explained and commented upon. The Prophet himself was responsible for interpretation of the Qur'an and explaining divine law in a more detailed account. In this detailing and commenting upon the revelation, the Holy Prophet (pbuh) was infallible and free of mistake. At the same time, people are asked to act as the Holy Prophet (pbuh) instructs them: “And whatsoever the messenger giveth you, take it. And whatsoever he forbiddeth, abstain (from it)” (59:7).

Would you say the word disagreement is a little misleading for the story?

Nope. Very fitting. He wanted sex, she disagreed, he pushed his point of view and she rebutted. Disagreement.

Isn't this thread lacking some of the board's muslim apologist's ? He only wanted some strange. They are just a misunderstood religion.

The sad thing is that in that part of the world, the alcohol is a bigger crime than rape

Even a third-world country needs to have priorities. ;-)

It doesn't say in the article that the rapist was a Muslim.

                            This.

A buddy of mine was over there, said many of the people working there were Shrilonkan (sp?) or indian, and that would mean the chances of them being muslim is low. Since the article didnt say, its hard to speculate on the religous beliefs of the dude.

The laborers and lower class people are immigrants from third world countries East of the Arabian Peninsula from what I have read. The fact that the man goes by "K S" instead of Muhammad Bin Nasrullah Arafat and was consuming alcohol would lead me to think that he ain't a UAE native.
