You don't have to be logical or emotional... you have to make the position of jacking with gun owners so detrimental (to your job as congressman/senator) that you won't do it.
We're all on the same page that they'll sell their soul to cover their own tail. Put law-abiding gun owners, effectively, on a pedestal.
And how long will it be detrimental to shit on gun owners? I'd say about another 1/2 generation. Once the baby boomers are gone it is a solid up hill battle for anyone that is a gun owner and it will only get demonized further. I would say at this point that gun ownership in its current state has about a 20 yr shelf life.

Why? because it would help bolster the NRA view that illegally possessed firearms are the #1 contributor in most shootings. It will de facto neuter almost every left wing opposition to gun ownership. Some might call it "giving in and letting Big Gov know who has what"... but if all we (gun owners) have to do is shrug our shoulders and lay blame on lots of these killings to "another illegally owned firearm", it would help shift public opinion on WHAT the gov wants to really do with this "GUN CONTROL" and kill a lot of their left-wing slant on the topic.
What I am not OK with is mental health BLANKET judgements like Cali uses. I don't have time to expound but it's too muddy.
Also on a side note on this topic. Obama wasn't born here in the US. I know for I truly believe that the reason he got elected was not to actually do something as president but to prove to the elites that the United States has been dumbed down enough and will remain docile to do anything they want now. They did this by letting the American people put a NON US Native in the White house. The new world order. It is already here.First hand witness at the failure of public healthcare.

The english here in the UK were so fucking gullible to think it was for safety. If you really like your firearms, stay the FUCK AWAY from registration. The government will go door to door claiming people are mentally unfit for ownership. I see either a civil war or complete obedience to the monarch within my lifetime.

Senators and congressional electorates (I use electorates for a reason) that are anti-gun and want to further the agenda use these events as a polarizing position. By that I imply an agenda that is forwarded and supported by media-driven facts.
When someone shoots up a bunch of people and offs themselves, they tend to be either previously defined as mentally unstable or utilizing weapons that are illegally procured. My position is that if the Right were to push the criminalization factor of firearms we could develop a public-accepted idea that guns are only owned by those who can legally possess them. Follow me.
The general public by and large is fine with LEGALLY owned firearms. The crux is the very vivid and graphic portrayal these killings paint on newsstands, websites and TVs. The left feels they can use these portrayals to push anti-gun legislation. If given the opportunity, we could use that against them. The reason is that every senator and congressman is in a 2 year office period. Other on by constituents. If public perception were to be manipulated to the point that these crimes are seen as being perpetrated not by guns, but by criminals, it would force the moderate left to shore up on the punishment for crimes committed with illegal firearms purchases and possession.
Psycho kid steals dads guns and shoots up a kindergarten? Firearms that was stolen and was easily accessible by the offender. Punish the father and make it a point that you should have your firearms secured. Do it repeatedly. Paint the picture of a rampant group of degenerates who circumvent the law as being the real issue (which it is) and hold the gun owner more responsible (which they should be).
The end result is to use the media to leverage the Senate and Congress into a position where firearm bans are not only unpopular, but seen as a chickenshit excuse for "letting criminals get guns". We (gun owners) don't need everyone to agree with owning AR15s... We just need a majority to fear for re-election. It's stupid in how it works but it would assure that anti-gun bills never pass.Originally posted by PGreenCobraI can't get over the fact that you get to go live the rest of your life, knowing that someone made a Halloween costume out of you. No need for registration. Second amendment has no provision for mental fitness. Only requirement is to be An American Citizen . The right shall not be infringed. Not hard to understand.Rich

The people that want to ban guns see every gun as a future mass shooting. As long as there are guns and free will, you'll never eliminate gun violence and you'll never keep them out of the hands of criminals and the dangerously unstable.Originally posted by BroncojohnnyHOORAY ME and FUCK YOU!

There is only one good reason for.registration and that is confiscation. It has been proven in the past. We must learn from the past history or we are doomed to repeat it.
The gun grabbers have one goal in mind, grab all guns, unfortunately, criminals will always have guns. This leads me.to know I will not give mine up.
I just had a dot physical. The questions are on the forms. You must pay attention or as stated above, they will use the mental health "loophole" as a reason for coming to your door just like Kalifornia.
Stay vigilant!Rich

The end result would be the anti-gun crowd crowing about how their plan works and we need to stiffen it up for more results. Every single time one side budged for the other side, someone exploited it down the road. Our political system is akin to sibling rivalry of adolescent children.
