My son can weigh the options and make his own decisions. I'll back him either way. It looks like he'll go Air Force. Not because I forced anything on him, but because he made a rational, adult decision based off of real-life situations, his goals and beliefs.

Not really. I don't want the praise, I did a job. That said, trying to demonize the choice to serve with his comments, if held by even a slight majority, would result in him losing those freedoms because again, they are paid for with blood. A lot of blood. One of what?

Sir, and I say that respectfully, you post all kinds of random shit, big and small in this forum. You want the attention, and I truly believe that you desire somebody (racrguy) to "challenge" you.

You want everybody to be as militant as you. Just an FYI, most of us aren't. Thank you for your service, and whatever you sacrificed. I truly do appreciate it as others do. Naynay only posts this shit to piss others off. I guarantee you that if his kid made a decision to join the military he would support him/her.

Think what you like. I learned a lot from my time in and wouldn't trade it for the world. I pray that my child gets the same opportunity I did.

You see it as me "forcing" my child to do something. I see it as making sure that my child not only gets to experience the same environment I did, but that they have the life skills to help them deal with the harsh reality of society.

I also want them to go in to continue the family tradition, the only male in my family that hasn't served in the last 100 years was my father. We are a military family that has sacrificed for our country, I will be damned if my child is the one to break that tradition.

I call bull shit on the "not trolling" comment. Over the past few months you have show yourself to be a classless pile of shit. Much like the asshole in the white house, you use tragedy and the hardship of others to advance the agenda of the traitorous left. You are just as much of a traitor to the ideals this country was founded on as those that are currently in power.

You must be a god damned military expert.

If you weren't there and haven't seen it with your own eyes, maybe you should shut the fuck up.

do you have a dog in this fight?

its an open poll, no need to really even reply if it does not apply to you!

Rape happens everywhere, this isn't a military problem. The rate is nowhere near the level you think it is. Shit, a female in college is more likely to get raped than in the military.

Not now, I will in the future.

You toss your comments in threads that have no bearing on your life at all, but I should butt out because I don't have kids right now? How about fuck you instead.

I guess that I don't get it. What if your kid is some super-genius that could benefit man-kind WAY more in other ways? You just don't want to break the tradition?

That's fucking retarded in my opinion.

BTW, naynay is a pussy, and Frost is a war mongerer.

The military will give the child a foundation to build the rest of their life from. I am sure I will do a damned good job raising my kid, but I know the disciplines I learned in the military made me who I am today. Same goes for the changes I saw in my brothers.

After you become a part of something like the military, your very being changes.

I will ask you the same question Count Blackula asked me .... Have you served?

MIlitary establishes a sense of duty and teaches not only life lessons but provides something our culture is seriously lacking. That would be a rite of passage. You graduate basic, you proved that you are no longer a child. You are no longer needing a protective wing around you and are learning skills that can be put into use in the real world. Want college education but can't figure out how to pay for it? Military. Trying to compete with people who have actual time in doing the job you want to do? Military. Want to serve the Republic and be a part of something that has stood unbroken for over 2 centuries? Military.

                          Well put.

You are still bat shit nuts though.

Not really. I enjoy educated debate. That tends to be something that some find threatening and it's a current joke that the majority of my debates are "show me the constitutionality." If you call that a challenge, so be it.

No, I don't want everyone to be as militant as me. I want people to be informed on our founding document, the supreme law of our land and how it's being eaten away and very real threats to citizens such as a president that has decided he can execute you at will without due process or oversight. I didn't sacrifice anything. I'm just a Joe. In order for Nay to have a child, he'd have to engage in relationships capable of producing one. It's tough to form those when you're surrounded by pipe all day.

Absolutely. You won't find me debating that point.

War monger-er? Not really. Our force should be used sparingly and when used should be swift and final. Nothing and no one left standing. Call me what you like.

I already answered that question, no.

I don't disrespect the armed forces like some do. I DO, however know that some that served, are douchebags just wanting attention. Again, I ask you, if your son/daughter are geniuses, do you want them to go through the same shit you went through?

I remember what my grandpa told me that he told my dad:"My father (my great grandad who lost one of his legs in WWII to a mine) told me something that I hope your father told you. I love you and I want you to do what you were meant to do. If you pick up trash, that's fine. Just do what you were meant to do."

He told me that when I graduated High School.
