  • Cigarettes out of sight = out of mind?

The genius behind the large soda ban has another great idea to hopefully help citizens avoid that pesky thing called "choice" when it comes to their health.

Long story short, he wants to make cigarettes and other tobacco products not visible in convenience stores and other places that sell them.

I'm with ya. The US is very up tight about shit like this compared to other places I've been. Granted, the US is still a lot better than those places but things like this slowly take freedoms away by removing choices.

If I still smoked, I'd probably go to hand rolled at this point with a machine or something. Not only because I hate the tobacco companies, but I hate big gov thinking they have control of them/smokers.

Are you sure about that? I was in Toronto a few months ago, and they were visible.

One thing Canada does, that we don't, is the pictures of cancer riddled lungs and tongues on tobacco products. I've got a picture somewhere that I can dig up and post.

Where would you get your tobacco from, grow your own?

I've done the machine rolling. It was considerably cheaper when I was doing it because you weren't paying tobacco taxes like you would for off-the-shelf stuff. I've heard that's changing now because gov't doesn't like not getting their money.

Uh... they do. It's called extortion/being able to tax the living fuck out of an addiction. They have smokers by the balls.

                  Mexico does the same thing.

Sounds great in theory, I just don't know to be honest though. Was more sensible to stop doing it altogether for me. Getting too old and was starting to feel it more and more.

I also wondered if it would be more pure/consistent. Sort of like reloading ammo, you know what you're getting...etc. I do not know if those additives they say cig companies put in the tobacco is true or not - just seems it would be a better smoke.

Fair enough - but according to BM there, they'd like take the home made method away too via taxes.

This. Things will keep changing in the name of "public health" until it will be unlawful to do ANYTHING that 'they' deem 'unhealthy'.
