Poll: Which route should we take as a country?

Poll is coming out as expected. There are only two real choices there. A and C.


I say A and C, because B is a pipedream that makes us feel good to think about, but will never ever happen.. AND WE ALL KNOW IT. Everyone wants to cut the idea of govt, but no one wants to in practice. We are circling the drain gentlemen, and it's gonna end bloody for all of us.



(disclaimer - I voted for B too. I can hold on to ridiculous beliefs as fervently as the next guy. )

I think B is a real option, but it's one that's going to be a hard sell. It may have to come by force, either through traditional forms, or the kind where creditors make it so expensive to borrow money that we just can't afford to borrow it.

Option B isn't a valid option with our political climate. We need to leverage our buying power, posture ourselves to bankrupt every other country if they lose our credit/goods/services, and so forth.

B is a high possibility with the Energy boom happening and new technologies around the country. We could be not only Energy Independent, but also be making money on exports. I do believe within 10-15 years it's quite possible. I however think though that it will be hard to sustain until that time if shit is not tightened up. Energy Independence would help us out a lot. Afterall, Energy is like gold to every country and the Middle East holds everyone by the balls because of it. A little switcheroo would be nice.

It's like we're hovering over a black hole and the only thing keeping us from falling in are the nooses we've placed around the throats of other countries. If one starts to slack off and fall in with us, the other countries have to pull harder to keep from being drug in. The alternative is that they all run in their own direction, but their ledge is only wide enough to stand on and if we let go, they fall off of the ledge, into the black hole anyway.
