I do not want war with anyone as had been said before.

This country has a lot of weapons. Park two carriers (gotta save some for back up) off coast. Figure one, maybe two Ohios.

ICBMS are always on standby.... I hope and depend on.

I hope personally a Nuke NEVER goes off again.

One thing is certain WHEN we fight again, if the politicians try to make it a PC war... we wont win. We have to hit them hard, and dirty.

With the way our forces are deployed right now I think we would have to go nuclear on them. 2nd Infantry Division is a speed bump, designed to slow them down while our forces deploy. The problem is our forces are already deployed and would take forever to get into theater.

I was there in 96-97 and was briefed that the ROK Army would hold them up for 2 days, our mission was to hold them up for 2 weeks. In 2 weeks (hell even a month) we could not get enough troops there to stop them.

If they nuke us....Its on. Quicker than you just blinked.

I really wonder. Would our Allies back us up? Yes, the country is in huge debt. Its lead by ...Some one I didnt vote for.

Curious as to why you view them as not being a threat?

Al Qaeda didn't have near the resources that NK has right now. They managed to carry out one of the largest attacks on our country. You might want to change your perception of what war is in current times, it isn't a standard ground war with traditional engagements anymore.

You have an overly determined enemy with a hugely powerful ally with massive stockpiles of troops, equipment, and a massive manufacturing base. Tack on China's history of supplying our enemy in two separate conflicts, one of which we got our ass kicked in. The other resulted in a stalemate where we are still technically at war.

North Korea is a very real threat with China's backing. Hell, China has been conducting cyber attacks against US targets recently. If that doesn't smell like planting some seeds to cause serious disruption in the event of an all out invasion I don't know what does. If the Korean war goes hot again and it weakens the US to the point that China can do something ... They will.

Assuming that North Korea isn't a threat isn't just ignorant, it is plain irresponsible.

China will not back NK unless there's a war, then we risk a war with China.

What good will going to war do for our country? I can't think of one thing.

Again, we cannot afford a war right now

You didn't really answer the question. Why do you think NK is not a threat?

Why do you think they are? They're a poor ass country. Until they attack us I feel it should be avoided. I also feel any attack they perform we will prevented . Any war we don't have to fight is a war won. I guess you guys haven't noticed our country is borderline bankrupt

I think you're missing a key point: if WE are attacked first (let me define attack: they bring over a kamikaze submarine loaded with 6 nuclear warheads and just detonate it on a beach in Long island or San Fran, as an example) are we supposed to do nothing? This discussion is more about response to an action (North Korea being the aggressor) as opposed to pre emptive strikes by us. We leveled more sanctions, we are doing our typical passive-aggressive BS. Kim Jong Un is watching his country starve and we're making it worse. If he decides now is the time to make his mark, we're going to have to respond.

We aren't going to. That was the entire point of the UN talks and new sanctions. This was what pissed KJU off in the first place, that his nuclear testing is going to cause even more hardship. He learned from daddy that threatening to blow half the world off the planet gets them money.

                          I see both sides..

                          A. North Korea is definitely a threat, they have several nukes, a nutty leader who hates the United States, at minimum China secretly aiding them.. But they are without many resources.. From what I've been reading, if china didn't aid them they wouldn't be able to keep a war going for a very long time because they can't even fuel equipment they have.. But hey, when you have nothing you have nothing to lose... I wouldn't put it past them to try to bomb South Korea and our 25k troops that at there..

                          B. on the other side.. It would not benefit china for us to go to war other than buying more shit from them. We owe them a fuck ton of money yet we buy soo much shit from them we keep their economy going..

                          --------
A part of me wants our president to man up and shut Kim jong Ching Chang chongs mouth for good but we already have shit going on with Iran too! The east does not fear our iron fist these days and that's our leaders faults.. The other part of me thinks our country needs to get out of there and focus on making our country again what it once was..

Come on man, I already outlined a bit of why I see them as a viable threat. You chose to ignore it.

AND YOU STILL HAVEN'T ANSWERED WHY YOU THINK THEY ARE NOT A THREAT. Because they are "dirt poor" is not a valid point when China will provide them with what they need to fight a war.

The fact that we as a country are bankrupt isn't pertinent to this discussion. If we are attacked, we will go to war. It is just that simple.

If we get into a war with North Korea it will destabilize the US and weaken us dramatically. Toss in the over 140 major cyber attacks that target key systems controlling air traffic, water, power grids coming out of China and you get a picture of what China could gain.

Most wars are fought over resources of some kind and I think China would be happy to have access to ours. If we leave the door open for China to invade, I think they will. A long hard war with North Korea would provide them with that opportunity.

That would be stoopid if we nuked them.. We would immediately have china on our ass as the radiation from the bombs would partially cover their land too which would result in retaliation.. We definitely can't afford to go to war with them.. Think of all the manpower it would take to even attempt to Try to control a military of that magnitude
