      Your argument was that the law was enforceable and in full effect, when it's not. It's not enforceable, and it's not in effect. I can wear your exact uniform, down to rank, insignia, name, and all medals and there isn't anything anyone could legally do to stop me as long as I wasn't committing fraud.

        Actually I was arguing that there's a law against it. I'm right. It hasn't been removed despite discretion on prosecution. It's absolutely enforceable and it's in effect. I asked you to show me it being struck down or repealed. You provided neither. As usual.

          Precedent, while not specific about this case, does weigh heavily against it. It can't be challenged until someone tries to enforce it. And that information is interesting, stuff I didn't know. I'd bet my money they would never care until it falls into commercial domain.

          I'm still boggled that you think this is constitutional in light of everything you think is unconstitutional.

They have stated that they are for official use only. Completely within their right as the holders of the copyright.                     You should learn more about copyrights and how they work. Just because you have a copyright on something doesn't mean you have complete control over that particular item for as long as it exists. Once you sell a given item, it's up to the buyer to determine what they do with it, within certain bounds.

                    For instance, if I buy a book, I'm free to read that book every, and anywhere I choose. The copyright holder cannot determine what I do with the book, outside of reproduction. I can take that same book and sell it to another person without breaking any laws or owing the copyright holder any royalties. And you can even reproduce the works, under fair use guidelines.

                    • Except for the fact that this isn't a book, it's a medal that belongs to the DoD and an insignia of the DoD you'd be right. If you are wearing accurate military uniform with medals, you are engaging in not only copyright issues, you're also committing fraud, passing yourself off as a certain branch.

                      There are rules that come with those medals and insignia. US code and the Constitution agrees with me. Cheers.
