Isn't this similar to a poll tax..

In U.S. practice, a poll tax gun insurance mandate was used as a de facto or implicit pre-condition of the exercise of the ability to vote second ammendment rights.

states enacted poll tax gun insurance mandate laws as a means of restricting eligible voters gun owners

[The Supreme Court] declared that the imposition of a poll tax in state elections violated the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment to the United States Constitution.

This should be taken to court with a large suit against the state of NY for infringing on the rights of gun owners.

            But, it's not a tax. It's a fine. No wait, it's not a fine. It's a penalty.

Not constitutional. But I hope it passes because New York deserves it and we need something like this to go to the SC so this whole issue can be put to bed.

The Supreme Court will stand with New York. The law will hold, and other states will follow suit as "Quick as the Indian went to shit". Wait and see.

Remember.....To control a group of people you need to do 3 things:
                    1. Restrict their ability to move around at will. ($ 10.00 Gasoline)
                    2. Restrict their ability to communicate freely. (Internet control)
                    3. The ability to protect one's self. (Gun control)

IT IS HAPPENING RIGHT IN FRONT OF OUR EYES!

If this passes a court challenge would destroy it. Heller and McDonald clearly affirmed the right to bear and possess arms, and you cannot tax a right.

This does seem awful infringing. But so do all of these other laws.
