Except for the EPA adding more regulations, especially on the oil companies and refineries. And the fact that we may have more oil over here and cannot touch it because of the liberals. Obama and his band of bandits are accounting for most of the rise.

I am seeing more CNG stations around but still not enough for me to change. One of my customers says it cost $10k for the conversion for their company, not sure how much it would cost one of us.

the fiscal cliff brought everything down. once the deal was made the markets rallied and so did oil prices. refineries shut down for maint etc also had an influence. better employment data earnings etc. hopefully it pulls back a bit it seems folks dont spend as much when prices are high.

And what caused the prices to dip right before Bush left office?

            A 48 month perspective:

            A 9 year perspective:

My guess is that it will hit $3.85 early April, peaking, then fall until July, when it will make the climb to a similar number again.

When you play with the charts, you can see a few trends like what I've suggested.
Ronald Reagan:"Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it."

Homer: "Bart...there's 2 things I know about women. Never give them nicknames like "jumbo" or "boxcar" and always keep receipts...it makes you look like a business man."

I have a plan to make the gas prices go down. How about we all don't put gas in our cars next week , then the gas companies will......ahh hell, idk. I'm going to bed but yeah, it sucks.
              .....bro....

My buddy does CNG conversions up in Oklahoma. He said after a tax credit, the company trucks he does conversions on needs 2 years to make up the difference. He did say they have to average 30k miles a year though. He was saying the storage tanks are pretty big on these fleet trucks so you have to take that into account.

What pisses me off is when gas goes down it will drop by a penny a day. but when it goes up it's a 10 cent increase by lunch.

Though a POTUS may not have a "direct" connection to fuel prices, his policies (including the EPA, which he controls) most certainly do have an influence on them.

The gas station has it in their tank, and the amount they're going to pay for the next tanker truck has dropped, so they're paying less for the next delivery, so they can start dropping the price to keep in line with competition.
The price for the next tank is more expensive, they jack the price instantly.
                      Is that how it works?

IMO again global usage was down due to the economic downturn in the global economy lead by the US. history tends to repeat itself. fuel prices will betaking a breather IMO
