They have a pretty good inventory and part of the lease agreement is maintaining the items, so any agency can buy any amount of parts from the hundreds of other dealers out there.

I get what Olympic and other mfgs have done and Im glad to see they do it, but like always there's another way around.

I was talking more about ALL government agencies, not just ones in NY.

That is good to see. I love the "Civilian customers" and they're trying to do everything they can but LEO it's "Your orders have been canceled."

I don't see gun companies cutting off their biggest customers though. Companies like Barrett that make higher priced items wouldn't be able to keep their doors open if they cancelled govt contracts and relied on public sales. I hope I'm wrong, I would love to see it.

I wish! Unfortunately the govt owns the guns already and a LEO agency pays a nominal fee for receiving the item. When they're done with it. It goes right back to the govt.

Not buying backing from LEO agency, but buying them from the gov. It was making fun of the asinine buybacks the Dumbascraps have been attempting. Besides that, the gov asshats bought those guns with our money.

Barrett has canceled contracts and service deals with agencies in California then turned around and made the Barret 416 that could still be sold in Cali (since it wasn't a .50 cal). I think he did it as a sharp stick into California's eye but the round they designed is also superior to the .50BMG if I remember correctly.

With these words, York Arms joined Barrett, EFI LLC, LaRue Tactical, Midway USA, Olympic Arms, Templar Custom of North Carolina, and Cheaper than Dirt. Yes, even Cheaper Than Dirt who seem keen to gain back their rep after being accused of price gouging after magazine sales sky rocketed in December.

Almost daily the list of firearms manufacturers and dealers grows who have curtailed sales of guns and parts to law enforcement agencies in areas that have made the same items illegal for civilian use. Critics have countered that it won’t not amount to much as we understand the federal government is offering surplus M16A2s to state law enforcement agencies, but the unity of firearms manufacturers coming together to boycott the sale of their products to areas such as New York which have banned so-called assault weapons and high capacity magazines is rather interesting. Even if you think these are symbolic gestures, sometimes those are just enough to garner the attention of decision makers.
