  • Reserve Deputies

I have been hearing some stories about County Sheriff's offering to deputize every law abiding gun owner as a reserve deputy if a gun ban goes through. Anyone else heard this? Thoughts?

I would rather have more assholes with badges than have guns taken.

Real simple offer all law abiding citizens of your county a reserve position with no authority unless called upon. Kind of like a posse or county militia.

Some county's in Arizona are doing it. And it is back by the governor. Perry does not have the balls to do this.

Perry just doesn't have balls. He was born without them

I am not 100% sure but I don't believe the Governor would have any say.

This. All Perry can call out, aside from the National Guard, is the Texas State Guard, and they, being a fencible militia, can't be deployed outside the state.

He has no say over Sheriffs. They are the highest elected law enforcement agents in the country and have a lot of power. They have just either forgotten or not been told

Your right, but if he backed the idea it would go a lot further.
