The Marine Corps tried to let a few females into the Platoon Leader's course (grunt stuff) and they all dropped out.
The two female Lieutenants (not pictured here) to enroll in the USMC grueling infantry officer course have dropped out, attracting renewed attention to the question of women in combat roles. Women aren't built for it. Lower bone density, lower muscle density. They're not built to do the heavy lifting for long periods of time and being in the dirt, mud, sand and sweat for weeks without a shower and no privacy. They let women on the front lines, they're going to want their own showers, own restrooms, own tents. Bad for unit cohesionI wear a Fez. Fez-es are cool

I hate to burst all the grunt bubbles in here BUT, out of all the camps in theater (afghanistan) there are women on 75% of them. So the other 25% get the same oppurtunity that the first 75% get, big deal. They go on combat patrols (mounted and dissmounted). They are in the towers, they are on the ECPs, they are in the vehicles, they are in virtually every roll that dudes are in. Just because they are not 11's they still patrol next to them in other rolls already. If a chick doesn't want to be an 11 or such that is the choice she has. If she is and can't hack it, that is her carrier.
The rest of the Army has to suffer with the having them in their fields, now the grunts will have that to complain about too. And in my opinion a grunt that complains is a happy one. This is one more bitch for them (no pun intended).Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

The Navy just announced that they have selected the first women (officer and enlisted) to serve aboard submarines. Not to worry though for our bubblehead board members, they will be on Virginia class boats. They also announced that women will comprise a significant portion of the crew on all combatant ships with the exception of frigates and older types of submarines due to berthing compatability issues. Funny that they added the last part, women have already been on surface combatants for years."It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself."

I have no problem with it as long as the training and requirements are exactly the same between male/female. If they are in the rear with the gear then let them keep their 1.5 mile run and chin-hang PFT bullshit. They are very few and far between, but I have seen some squared away WM in the fleet. I have no problem with them as long as they do their job.
As for military conscription or the draft, I'm against it in almost every form.
