What you are saying now, and what you will be saying when it becomes time for "every one of you" in this thread to willingly decide to become felons, may not be the same thing. And what Frost is referring to is the fact that cops tend to protect their own, please do not attempt to tell us that it never happens....

I know it is the "us against them" mentality. I realize that everyone has had their bad experience with the law (ask me about mine some time). But it's just a job. My character comes first.

If it ever gets to the point that weapons are being confiscated, a job really won't matter much to any of us. That's why you think cops will just follow orders right? They don't want to lose their jobs?

As Sean McConnell wrote "money's just money".

It truly will be "us vs them". If they come for my guns, better bring a lunch. I have a family to protect.

Do me a favor and read what Paul Howe wrote on the subject of confiscation.

I just question the reserve of the guys that make these promises while they are the authority and legally carrying weapons, when it comes to being a criminal by decision and having the authority point guns at them. As has been said before, it is one thing to say it, another to do it. At this point, I am trying to figure out how to secure the safety of my family for WHEN it happens, not IF it happens. It WILL happen, just a matter of time. The pot is getting hot and the frogs can't tell.

Hey, what else do you call a group of people who, when the citizens are forced to have 7 rounds still can carry as much as they like? Or are provided with APC's and 'assault weapons?' Or can speed with impunity? Or can enter your home knowing if you draw on them, you're dead.

I call a large number of them prior military.

That'd be because power is addictive. I'd call them active police.

Well now what will you hang your hat on? Without the military what do you have left in life? LOL! You are something.

Difference between military and cops? Our power is severely limited on what we can do to citizens. Cops seem to be able to do whatever they want. If I kick in the wrong door in Iraq, the family gets a huge payment, a general apologies and the Army does more good work in the community to try to get face back.

Police? Sucks for your door, your dog and your attorney fees. I hope you can get the blood out of your carpets, none of the officers did anything wrong and there is no personal responsibility.

What do I have left? You mean aside from my son? My appointment to a state position, my lobbying? Or perhaps you mean aside from my school and degrees.

Once again with your sweeping blanket statements.

How bout those drone attacks? How many of those families are getting paid?

Feel free to search for a $400k pay out to a former US Marshall, I believe. Here in Lubbock. Total B.S. but he got his pay day.

Honestly? Probably all of them. The Army has a dedicated soldier who goes around with a rucksack full of cash to hand out not only to the family but to the local imam. But I wouldn't expect you to know that. It's not exactly well published.

                          Allow me to illustrate:

KABUL — U.S. military officials paid relatives $50,000 for each of the villagers allegedly killed by a rogue U.S. soldier this month in Kandahar province, Afghan officials said Sunday.

Payment of “blood money” is a common way to settle disputes stemming from violent deaths in Afghanistan, but the amounts seemed unusually high compared with past U.S. military practice. The money could defuse the intense anger the March 11 massacre has generated in the southern province.

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan — US authorities have given cash compensation to the families of Afghans killed in a shooting rampage allegedly carried out by an American soldier in Kandahar province, a family member and a tribal elder said on Sunday.

The families received around $50,000 for each person killed and about $10,000 for each wounded in the shootings in two villages in Panjwai district earlier this month. Afghan officials say 16 people, including nine children and women, were killed in the attacks.

“We were invited by the foreign and Afghan officials in Panjwai yesterday and they said this money is an assistance from Obama,” Haji Jan Agha, who said he lost his cousins, told Reuters, referring to US President Barack Obama.

Man we ran over a kid in 2007, all they got was $2,000. No wonder they rioted outside out gate for a few extra goats. They must have read there was a money bag guy on our FOB too.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

We had a kid play hide and go seek behind a tank in Korea. When the tankers cranked up in our AO, they backed over the pair. It was a horrific sight and I know it cost taxpayers a small fortune. Hell, counselors were dealing with us for over a week
