You have every right to that opinion, I see it combined with the new definitions for mental illness to become the new power grab. You will now start hearing stories about doctors abusing these new policies to force personal political agendas.

But yeah, this is all paranoid talk, just like when people were paranoid about socialized medicine and paranoid about weapon bans.

NY, in their pursuit to demonize gun owners, pushed through the law without reading it. The result? Police are not exempted. Current law states if they have more than 7 rounds in their magazine, they are criminals.

I guess they had to pass it to see what was in it. I was listening to the radio and one of the senators who voted against it brought this up while one of the ones who voted for it said "It was an oversight, we'll clarify it but the important part was passing it."

Maybe it's to help NY's economy by spending less on ammo. Besides, wasn't it in NYC where they had an issue dumping excessive rounds into(or at least towards) suspects a few years back?

A number of years ago, NYC cops were chastised for chasing a burger across rooftops and filing more than 300 rounds, without hitting the "perp" or anyone else.
