To all of the older members out there, have there been previous times that are this divided over all fronts in the past? I feel like things have gotten really bad and our POTUS is dead set on creatin more division between the parties though his comments to the media and unwillingness to negotiate. Bit maybe it's just because I've paid more and more attention over the years.

If you are talking about more recent times, then Carter really had a lot of divided and pissed off people. Atleast they were smart enough to only give him one term.May God give us strength and courage in the time of our darkest hours.

I've been around longer than most on this board. My first presidential election to vote in was Reagan/Carter (1980). Carter was bad. Real bad. The worst. Until this guy. Reagan inherited a MUCH worse economic picture from Carter, than Barry did. 10% unemployment, double-digit inflation, and a foreign policy principal that was cowardly and disgusting. The difference was that the citizens of the country knew it, and despised him for it. It resulted in a 489/49 (about) electoral college vote. Of course half of the country wasn't relying on the government to make ends meet, either, and foreign policy mattered (it doesn't now). As much as the administration wants you to think we have a "racial divide", or a "have vs. have not" split, it's more of "givers" and "takers", with the country being half and half. Of course, this is only one man's opinion.

Maybe during the Vietnam War or the Race Wars during the early 60's, but then it was mainly the extreme ends of the spectrum being so divided. It seems now the division is at the moderate level.
When the moderates in our country become as divided as now, it is time to really start worrying. Shit is on the path to get bad quick, it just needs a spark. the 0bama regime attempting to legislate via EO will be that spark. And how America goes, so goes the rest of the world. When the SHTF here, it will throw this entire world into chaos. Most people are oblivious to how fast this situation could dissolve into chaos, but the 0bama regime does, and that is why they are placing their chess pieces in place right now.

The US we grew up in is gone and is not coming back.
50 percent of the electorate wants the path we are now heading down and the numbers grow by the day.
States' rights have now become as much of a joke as our "limited federal government".
If I had the resources I would have bugged out already....
But since I don't....
Well, here I am I guess....
