The best part of it to me is how he repeatedly refers to the Newtown shooter and eliminating owning firearms as a right to gun owners. Why does it strike me as the cream of the crop from his diatribe? The Newtown shooter was not a gun owner. The Newtown shooter overpowered his unsuspecting gun-owning MOTHER and proceeded to murder her with (what now amounts to) STOLEN weapons. In this regard he is no different than the average street thug with a hot piece that changes hands every time it's used in a violent crime.

I've read some interesting magazine articles about gangs. One thing that always stuck with me was from a Kansas City exposé on their gang problem in the early 90s... They had one pistol that, through a lot of digging and witness testimony, the KCPD decided had changed hands between THREE gang members who used the same gun over then span of 2 years to kill at least 4 rival gang members. They said there were at least 3 other intermediary owners and were sure one flipped it after seriously injuring a rival gang member with it. Original owner? Law-abiding citizen that was burglarized a dozen years prior. That gun stayed quiet for a decade... Until it ILLEGALLY ended up in the hands of someone willing to acquire it for the use of murder.

That's what these anti-gun people refuse to accept. I say 'refuse' because they really are smart, a lot of them. They refuse to accept the reality that the big dick wins. We didn't gain our sovereignty by sweetly asking the British to release us to the New Land as our own country. We didn't repel their troops by debating with them to stop shooting us for treason to the King. We didn't write the Second Amendment to guarantee a MILITARY (he seems to think Militia = Military), it was written to guarantee that we could function as a nation without hindrance to repel any aggressor (This includes our government). The anti-gun people are terrified of a tool that can wreak so much destruction and they have no idea how to properly use one. So the simple answer for them is to say "take 'em all" and think it'll stop the 10-50 deaths per year in schools from firearms. They ignore the real world repercussions of a neutered America.

The whole founding fathers never could have foreseen the types of weapons we have today always irritates the shit out of me. The Brown Bess, Pennsylvania/Kentucky long rifle, charleville muskets, and every gun made at every blacksmith shop were weapons manufactured as the best/technologically advanced weapons of their time. They'd expect the same for us today. That's why the 2nd isn't limiting or specific. However, the implied implications we are left with often provides only and up hill battle.

When are we going to split the country into the people who want to live by the Constitution and the founding fathers against the Utopian liberals??
