Agreed. Much better to leave them all unarmed, and to let the children be slaughtered.

no, Im completely against having teachers with firearms and instructions to use them. You are out of line with that. They are there to teach, not be armed responce.

The only reason that those who are school employees that are capable to defend THEMSELVES and thier classrooms arent allowed to is by state law. I dont want my wife to be required to step into harms way becasue she is armed.

Let someone else teach her. They are crazy like that sometimes and don't want to listen to the words you are actually saying. Put them with someone else and they will hear everything. Shootsmart has private instructors that are very good at taking the husband out of the equation. Heck they have a couple women instructors that can out shoot 90% of the guys on here.

Arm the teachers. Concealed means concealed. Have quick reaction drills for active shooters and small caches controlled by trustee teachers and admin to augment everyday carry teachers. All undisclosed. Cache = Cell phone, shotgun, distinquishable jacket and equiv. of a combat life savers bag. Shcool board buys membership to indoor range and training ammo each year and works out discounts with ranges for supplimental training.

I for one would gladly accept the tax increase and my daughter won't be in school for 6 years.

The CHL was designed for personal protection. Not so much for the protection of others even though it has some merit to protect others. Police and Military training is more geared for the protection of others and train regularly with different sceneries of hostile situations.

I'm not saying it couldn't be an option, but I think the screening process would have to be very in depth in order to appease the liberals.
    Very true.

That is the sole reasoning behind my "dont ask dont tell" idea if they were allowed to carry.

I'm sure there are a few male coaches who would be down and some are better than none, but I agree with Wayne based on my interaction with teachers k-12 over the past 7yrs

heck, I know a lot of them too, and know of at least a dozen in this district that would be fine. my thoughts are that with this happening as frequently as it is, more of them will be interested and should be given the chance...

The vast majority of educators are liberals. And most havent learned to shoot or have a CHL. Its the ones that do shoot, or would get a CHL that would be the ones to do it.

The highschool that my wife and MIL teach at have 2 school resource officers. They have ~220 teachers. Id like thier to be more than just two people, who generally are in the main office, that have the potential to stop a shooter if that person walked into thier classroom.

I also dont think that they should be required to confront a shooter. I'm not required to as a CHL holder, why should they?
